Porter To Move On This Summer

|

Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that striker Chris Porter will be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer.

Porter, 38, has had a number of clubs before joining the Alex in the summer of 2017 and has made 189 appearances for the club, scoring 54 goals for the club (the last of which was against Wycombe Wanderers at the start of March). His last appearance was in the defeat at Doncaster Rovers earlier this month, the game that saw the club relegated back to League 2 after a couple of seasons in League 1.

What can Porter offer a potential new club?

He’s an ultra-professional player that could easily play in the National League next season or even for a team in the bottom half of League 2. He’s never been the quickest player but can offer an option to use a target man in a team and is a great penalty taker (having only missed the one penalty for us in about 15 attempts).
