Crewe Alexandra teenage striker Max Clayton has been overlooked for England Under-20’s forthcoming World Cup challenge in Turkey.

The eighteen-year-old was on target for the England Under-19 side in the recent 1-1 draw with Georgia in Belgium but Noel Blake’s side eventually missed out on qualifying despite defeating Scotland.

Clayton did then make the initial 35-man squad for Peter Taylor’s Under-20’s until losing out when it was reduced down to a final 21.

England will be based in Antalya for their first two group games against Iraq on June 23rd and Chile on June 26th before moving to Bursa for the final group game against Egypt on June 29th.
