Recent signing Mathias Pogba has been told to concentrate on getting himself into the box more often.

The 21-year-old striker has already scored in both of his two pre-season appearances since arriving from Conference side Wrexham earlier this month.

Even so, Alex manager Steve Davis was quick to encourage him to get into even more scoring positions rather than his tendency of drifting out to the flanks.

‘Mathias is a powerful lad and we have been pleased he has been able to score a couple of goals in pre-season,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We have told him that we want him to be in the box more and not to drift out wide as much as he does because we think he will do the majority of his damage inside the area.”
