Crewe Alexandra’s new striker Vadaine Oliver appears unlikely to be involved in their forthcoming two friendlies.

The Alex takes on Chester this weekend and Stafford Rangers on Monday but Oliver is carrying a slight groin injury at present.

The 21-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday trainee could still be available to face Aston Villa next week after already scoring six times during pre-season.

Meanwhile, AJ Leitch-Smith (groin) Harry Davis (dead leg) and Gregor Robertson (Achilles) are all back in regular training.
