Crewe Alexandra striker Vadaine Oliver has promised to come back firing following his sending-off against Crawley Town.

“I’m not happy because I don’t deserve to be suspended” – Vadaine Oliver

The 22-year-old received two cautions in quick succession during the 1-0 victory and now misses the forthcoming trip to Coventry City through suspension.

“I’m gutted to miss the Coventry game,” Oliver admitted to the Stoke Sentinel. “I’m not happy because I don’t deserve to be suspended.

“You can’t appeal against a sending off when it’s for two yellow cards, and perhaps that rule needs looking at because it isn’t particularly fair,” he added. “But I’ve got a couple of weeks to work hard in training and make sure I am ready to fire by the time we play Shrewsbury.”
