Nevitt Becomes First January 2023 Signing

|

Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that they have signed striker Elliott Nevitt from Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee on an 18-month deal, becoming the first signing of the winter transfer window.

Nevitt, 26, started his career with Everton Xaverians before having spells at many non-league clubs in the Liverpool area – Burscough, City of Liverpool for two spells, AFC Liverpool, Bootle, Waterloo Dock and Warrington Rylands (where he would win the FA Vase) before joining Tranmere in the summer of 2021.

Elliott has been assigned the number 20 shirt that Eli King had during his loan spell that has recently ended.

What does the signing of Nevitt mean?

He’ll provide competition for Dan Agyei and Bassala Sambou in the immediate future as well as Courtney Baker-Richardson and Chris Long when the latter pair return from injury. He averages roughly a goal every 5 games including 3 against the Alex this season (scoring twice in the league game at Prenton Park before scoring the only goal of the EFL Trophy game a few days later as a substitute).
