Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button is to join Crewe on loan today. The loan will be a six month deal initially, keeping the 20 year old at the club till January 3rd 2010.

Button has previously had loan spells at Grays Athletic, AFC Bournemouth, Luton Town, and Dagenham & Redbridge whilst having played for both England U-19s and U-20s.

The 6ft 3in keeper will most likely go straight into the side as number one, leaving current keepers Steve Collis and Adam Legzdins out in the cold.

Earlier this summer Steve Collis admitted that he would have to seek a move away from the club if he was not guaranteed first team football at Gresty Road for the new campaign.

Button will join the squad prior to Thursday’s friendly clash at Hyde.

Our sincere commiserations to you, from all at AFC Bournemouth…

sure he had a difficult time at Bournemouth, but has always been excellent at reserve and academy level, as well as highly rated at every other loan he has made, have bournemouth considered that they were equally to blame as a *****e defensive unit.

How can the defence be equally to blame for a goalkeeper falling over his own feet, failing to kick the ball, missing catches and being limp wristed failing to stop the easiest of shots?

With him in goal we conceded 6 goals in 4 games, once he left we only conceded 1 in the next 4 games…

Don’t doubt he has done well in the academy and in the reserves…under no pressure…with no-one watching…

“highly rated at every other loan he has made” Rochdale – No appearances, Luton – No appearances. Hate to see what happens when you’re not highly rated.
