SPL duo Hibernian and Aberdeen are both understood to be chasing Crewe Alexandra winger Byron Moore.

The 23-year-old has been offered a new two-year deal at Gresty Road after ten goals last season – including the second against Cheltenham Town in the play-off final victory last month.

Crewe would only be entitled to compensation for the player if he moves to another club in England. However, he could leave for nothing under the Bosman ruling should he instead choose Scotland.

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is said to be keen to take him to Easter Road but faces competition from SPL rivals Aberdeen.

Moore has made more than two hundred senior appearances with 25 goals for Alex since progressing through their youth ranks.
