The spirit has returned to the squad following their weekend win according to Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis.

“I think it was our greatest win of the season” – Steve Davis

The Railwaymen defied the sending-off of striker Vadaine Oliver to record a much-needed 1-0 triumph over Crawley Town ahead of their forthcoming free weekend.

“Hopefully the three points will see us go on and upwards now,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “It was important that signed off with a win and I think you can feel that the spirit is back now.

“We had a lot go against us on Saturday and there has been a lot made about us not coming back from behind but we had ten men for most of the second half and managed to get that win,” he added. “In those circumstances and with what we had to deal with, I think it was our greatest win of the season.”
