Dennis Lawrence will miss next week’s games against MK Dons and Millwall due to international duty.
The masked defender will be off jet setting with the Trinidad & Tobago team for their World Cup qualifying matches against Honduras and USA. Lawrence will also be doubtful for the massive away trip to Swindon Town on Saturday 4th April with his return date set at April 3rd.
It’s a heck of a blow for us having just got him back in action after his broken cheekbone. Gudjon must be cursing the untimely internationals; MK Dons away, Millwall at home and Swindon away probably bring a mixture of our toughest and biggest games of the season and Lawrence was due to be a vital player in picking up points from those three.
I seem to remember this being one reason why Dario was so hesitant to sign African based international players, and on more than one seemed to fall out with Clayton Ince over it.
