Crewe Alexandra’s Abdul Osman is hopeful his midfield colleague Luke Murphy remains at Gresty Road for the forthcoming season.

“It is vital that we try and hold onto him and that he continues to be a part of what we are trying to do here” – Abdul Osman

Skipper Murphy has been regularly tipped to follow his predecessor and team-mate Ashley Westwood in completing a move up the divisions following an excellent campaign last time around.

Former captain Westwood joined Aston Villa at the start of last season but Osman has since gone on to form a strong partnership in midfield with the highly-rated Murphy.

“Murph is a very good player and a great lad as well,” Osman told Crewe’s official website. “He was excellent for us last season and showed what a good player he is. It is vital that we try and hold onto him and that he continues to be a part of what we are trying to do here.”
