Crewe Alexandra skipper Luke Murphy has every chance of playing at the top level of the game according to director of football Dario Gradi.

Murphy, 23, continues to be linked with a move following a very successful season in which he took over the captaincy in the wake of Ashley Westwood departure to Aston Villa last August.
“Luke has done very well and become the player that Steve Holland always thought he would,” Gradi told Crewe’s official website. “When you put them in as young players you are never sure how they will do. I wasn’t as sure as Steve was but gave him his debut.
“Murph has gone on and improved, much in the same way Westy did,” he added. “You have to keep on improving. Westy has done that.”
