Gudjon has admitted that a second summer signing slipped through the net yesterday.

Thordarson finally began his summer shopping with the capture of Histon’s rated defender Patrick Ada on a free transfer. The Cameroon defender signed a two year deal yesterday and is set to feature heavily in the centre of defence next season.

It was a much needed boost for fans after a quiet couple of weeks and Gudjon is promising more to come but says some things are out of his control, as he found out with another transfer target yesterday afternoon.

Speaking to crewealex.net:

‘I nearly had another one yesterday but the deal cracked late yesterday. That is the nature of the game and sometimes deals can go out of your hands. You can do very little about it. You can be very close to it and then something happens that you cannot control.

‘That is what you have to deal with and all you can do is move on to the next target. Everything has to be right. The finances and the football has to be right.’
