Dario Gradi said the second goal killed his teams chances of a comeback following the 3-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

He said after the game: ‘Burnley started well and caused us some early problems. We had some problems with the quick winger, but I thought Adie Moses was very professional and did his best to handle him even though he struggled a bit against his pace. But otherwise we coped well in the first half. Their goal was a super goal with some great football and I would have been delighted if we had scored a goal like that.’

Adding that ‘I thought we’d got to grips with the game and our players thought so too. We came out in the second half and had a couple of chances, but then they scored their second goal which I was really disappointed with.’

He also singled out Goalie Ben Williams for his costly errors:

‘I’ve told Ben that I’m disappointed with it because I’ve told him to stay on his line and as soon as I saw him coming I knew we were in trouble. It killed us off and then the third goal went through him as well. We’ve been happy with Ben this season and I think he’s a good goalkeeper, but it’s frustrating when he makes mistakes like that. I suppose that is why young players are at this club though, to learn.’

However he says the team will learn from the defeat and bounce back adding, ‘We just have to get on with it.’
