Bury have taken Rodney Jack on trial after he was released from the Alex this summer.

Dario surprised fans last year when Jack was taken back at the age of 33, just when his career seemed to be winding down. However, Jack proved the doubters wrong and put in a good season for the Alex, regularly coming off the bench to change the game.

Jack was released in June due to the Alex’s cost cutting, although Dario admitted he would have liked Rodders to stay if it was possible.

The striker, who first arrived from Torquay for £650k in 1998, has now been offered a trial at Gigg Lane. Technical Director Keith Alexander decided to give Jack a chance after it seems their bid for Chester striker Simon Yeo is about to fall through.

Should Jack earn himself a contract with the Shakers he could face quite a few ex-Alex next season, with the likes of Darran Kempson, Darren Moss, Tony Grant and Adie Moses set to star in League Two next season.
