Steve Holland has revealed that he would like to keep Gary Roberts if he can change his ways.

The 21 year old midfielder was transfer listed only a few weeks ago along with fellow teammate Danny Woodards after several problems off the pitch including failing to report to training on two separate occasions.

Holland told The Sentinel “We can`t continue like we did last year, but I haven`t given up on him. Hopefully it will provide the jolt that`s required and he will have an outstanding season.”

“It`s the biggest frustration to see a player who you know could do well fall short for reasons beyond football.”

There have been no firm offers for Roberts since he was transfer listed although teams such as Blackpool, Leicester and Doncaster are all said to be interested in the academy graduate.

He’s caused too many problems though and has taken the mickey with his off pitch attitude so I think he has still got to go!

i agree bout the attitude but i still think he has the ability to guide us in the right direction if his attitude changes slightly.

With him still at the club maybe a few of the interested parties have heard about his antics and are no longer interested.
