Reserves Hit Seven In Friendly

A Tom Pope hat-trick helped the Alex reserves to a magnificent 7-1 victory over their Walsall counterparts this afternoon. The behind closed doors friendly also saw two goals from Eugen Bopp, one from Michael O’Connor and also one from Mat Bailey.

The game gave the likes of Chris McCready and Ryan Lowe a run out after being consigned to the bench in recent weeks. Highly rated youngster Josh Thompson also got a game; the 17 year old is widely expected to make his first team debut before the end of the season.
