A reserve side were beaten 2-1 at Wolves in a friendly yesterday. Young striker Shaun Miller scored the Railwaymen’s only goal of the game as he looks to push his way back into the first team picture for next season.

The game gave Steve Holland a chance to assess some fringe players and those lacking fitness. Amongst them was left-back Billy Jones who’s spent nearly five months on the sidelines, he came through the game ok and could even feature on Saturday against Cheltenham.

Also getting a run out was Neil Cox as he returns from a shoulder operation. Cox looks to be available for the final few games of the season and will probably be used to close out vital wins.

Others to get a game included Eugen Bopp and two trialists.
