Manager Steve Davis was buoyed as a spirited Crewe Alexandra rallied to earn a 2-2 draw at Coventry City.

“They have shown some real fight in the last two games and you can see some of the confidence coming back” – Steve Davis

Loan striker Tom Hitchcock had given them an early lead but the visitors were eventually grateful to Chuks Aneke’s equaliser midway through the second-half.

“We didn’t manage to hold onto the lead given to us by Tom but the players once again showed some real spirit and determination to get something from it,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “They have shown some real fight in the last two games and you can see some of the confidence coming back.

“They are still making a few mistakes and there is still room for improvement, but everyone can see that the spirit is improving and they are putting their bodies on the line,” he added. “I was pleased with them.”
