Crewe Alexandra are ready to give teenage prospect Ryan Colclough the chance to again prove his worth.

“On his day, he’s a good as we’ve got” – Steve Davis

The nineteen-year-old has missed almost a year of football and was recently
cleared in court on two counts of assault and one of harassment.

“It’s amazing how quickly you can get forgotten in football,” manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. “He has to prove to people what he’s capable of.

“He’s had his distractions away from football and some of the off-field things have had an effect on him,” he warned. “But I hope the penny drops for him. Now he can concentrate on the one thing he is very good at, as, on his day, he’s a good as we’ve got.”

Colclough has already made 31 senior appearances and scored three goals since making his debut at the age of seventeen.
