First team coach Steve Holland said the objective of the evening was two clean sheets, well at Quorn they did just that and scored 5 goals in the process against a poor looking side.

In the Leicestershire sun a Crewe XI strolled to victory, Junior Brown grabbed two, Nicky Maynard, Mark Carrington (pitctured above) and Byron Moore grabbed the goals.

It was a decent work out for the players, Junior Brown and Mark Carrington looked good as did Maynard who was withdrawn at half time as a precaution as he was suffering with a tight hamstring. Tom Pope did little to convince that he could fill Luke Varney`s boots next season.

The first team coach also revealed that former Coventry City player Patrick Suffo is to begin a trial on Friday as recommended by Adrian Heath. It also looks like bad news for the trialist on show as none look to have done enough to secure longer term deals.

Ryan Lynch was the pick of the trialist on show but is unlikely to earn a longer deal, he played well at full back and moved forward well. The club will now travel to Gloucestershire to take on Forest Green next Tuesday and Steve Holland revealed it will be a full strength starting XI.
