Pressure Piled On As Gills Close Gap

The gap between Crewe and the relegation zone is down to one point after Gillingham beat Luton 2-1 tonight. Prior to the game the gap between Gillingham in 21st and Crewe in 20th was four points, but Gillingham have taken advantage of their game in hand tonight.

It was looking good for the first 75 minutes of the game though with a first half Sam Parkin goal putting the Hatters in the lead but a double from Gillingham’s recent signing Simeon Jackson in the final 15 minutes of the match means the pressure is piled on.

The gap is down to just one point, although the Alex currently have the superior goal difference. The blow won’t seem any softer with this weekend’s games to come. The Alex face Southend at Gresty Road with the Shrimpers looking to extend their unbeaten run to ten games whilst Gillingham face the much easier task of Millwall, who sit just one point ahead of us.

Confidence will be key in this relegation battle. We saw it with our recent little run, but maybe that last minute Walsall goal and tonight’s win for Gillingham have turned the form book on it’s head?

lol i bet all the teams at the bottom could say the same, funny thing though already on other sites teams who thought they were safe are looking over their shoulders, still i’d rather be in their position with the points in the bag.
