Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is hoping latest signing Mesca can add some real attacking impetus into the side.

“We got him here because he offers something different in the final third of the pitch” – Steve Davis

The Portuguese winger has recently arrived on loan from Fulham alongside fellow newcomer and Queens Park Rangers striker Tom Hitchcock.

Both started the latest 1-0 victory against Crawley Town – which was actually the Alex’s first in nine games, and are in contention to face Coventry City this weekend.

“Mesca went home to Portugal for a couple of days last week to see some family, but he has come back and is training well,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We got him here because he offers something different in the final third of the pitch with his skill and pace. We want him to score and create goals and there were signs of that against Crawley.”
