Player of the Month: October?

A new poll is live on the site. Who was October Player of the Month for you?

It’s been a topsy turvy month with three wins and four defeats but there are still plenty of players shining in Alex shirts.

Steve Phillips continues to prove himself to be one of the best players in the division between the sticks. When he’s not single handedly holding on to three points as at Cheltenham, he is ensuring any defeats stay respectable when the defence in front of him crumbles.

The defence are not entirely disgracing themselves however, Adam Dugdale and Carl Matin continue as the unlikely partnership in the centre and are slowly improving as the season goes on.

In midfield, Ashley Westwood has arguably been one of our most consistent players since day one whilst young Nick Powell had a fantastic October on the wing, scoring his first professional goal at Wimbledon – and what a goal it was.

Ajay Leitch-Smith upfront meanwhile continues to be the workhorse and with two goals in three games, is Ajay finally finding some scoring form?

You can vote for your Player of the Month on the poll found down the right hand side.

Meanwhile, the last poll asked who should be playing up front and unsurprisingly 46% voted to stick with the usual duo of Miller & Leitch-Smith. 33% voted for a Miller & Moore partnership that played against Cheltenham.

11% wanted to see the untested Max Clayton and Byron Moore partnership whilst 5% apiece went for a trio of Miller, Moore and Ajay & Ajay & Clayton.
