Reports suggest that former Sheffield United striker Patrick Suffo was given a run out against Quorn tonight.

The 29 year old Cameroon international is best known for his 2 years at Sheff Utd, where he played over 30 times, scoring just five goals. His time at Bramall Lane came to an abrupt end though when he played a part in a 21 man brawl that saw a Sheff Utd game against West Brom called off.

He went on to play over 50 times for Coventry City before leaving in 2005. In the past couple of years he’s spent time at Norwegian club Odd Grenland and Israel club Maccabi Peta Tikva.

This summer Suffo spent some time on trial at Bournemouth but injury put an end to his time there.

Suffo, at 6ft, is expected to be looked at to see if he can be the man to replace Luke Varney up front. With plenty of Championship experience, he’s certainly worth a look.

Crewe won 5-0 at Quorn with Maynard, Junior Brown, Mark Carrington and Byron Moore all on the score sheet. Match report will be online soon.

he doesnt look like a typical cameroonian does he? also he needs to lose some weight. perhaps an intense pre-season will help him shed the pounds and put some colour back in his cheeks.
