Midfielder Ollie Turton is determined to prove he can really do the business for Crewe Alexandra.

“I’ve not been doing myself justice really so I was happier after the Swindon game” – Ollie Turton

The teenager admitted that he had rather let himself down when appearing as a substitute until the recent midweek win against Swindon Town.

He then earned his full debut against Yeovil Town following injuries to more senior colleagues a few days later.

“I’ve not been doing myself justice really so I was happier after the Swindon game,” Turton told the Crewe Chronicle. “I have been playing for the under 21s and doing all right, but it was not coming off for the first team.

“Nerves may have played a part in that, but you have to take it in your stride, keep it simple early on and go from there,” he added. “It’s up to the manager if he keeps putting me in or nor – if he does I’ll do the best I can.”
