Having already declared their interest in Gareth Taylor, Oldham are also believed to be chasing free agent Eddie Johnson. The 21-year old spent last season on loan at Crewe, having left Crewe as a 14-year old to join Manchester United. The striker improved as the season progressed, scoring 4 goals in 15 starts.

Johnson has been released by Man Utd, though Crewe have already offered him a contract. However, Oldham appear ready to contest Crewe for Johnson’s signature. Johnson is keen to settle at a club where he can improve, so only time will tell if the youngster will leave Crewe for the second time.

  • Well, if he wants to improve, i’m sure he’ll know what Dario can do for him at crewe.
