Offer Accepted

Crewe have had an offer accepted for an unnamed centre back. The club have a severe shortage of central defenders at the moment and have been linked with numerous defenders. Crewe will be hoping that they can agree terms with this particular centre-back as they look to boost their defensive options.

Although the centre-back’s identity is unknown, Grimsby’s Ben Futcher appears to be a distinct possibility. Gradi has been a long-term admirer of Ben Futcher having kept a very close eye on him during his time at Lincoln. Futcher then moved to Boston, where Crewe maintained an interest, before the 6’6 defender moved on to Grimsby.

Another option, however, is MK Dons’ defender Craig Morgan. The MK Dons’ recent relegation means Morgan could be looking to move on to enhance his international prospects, having just been called up to the full Welsh squad. The 6’0 defender was previously at Wrexham.

Whoever the centre-back in question is, Dario is hoping to arrange talks with the defender as soon as possible.
