The bid to bring Liverpool youngster Daniel O`Donnell to the Alexandra Stadium has stalled due to the Merseyside club`s involvement in the Champions League final in Athens this evening.

irector of Football (I think that`s his title) Dario Gradi has been talking to Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry about the availability of O`Donnell, who has been on loan at the club. Gradi told crewealex.net:

I am just waiting for a phone call from Rick but I understand he has a lot on his plate at the moment! I’m sure once this week is out of the way, we will speak and sort out the deal. Danny is keen to come here and has been training, which was nice to see.

ith this in mind, Dario is turning his attention to other targets, having only officially added Junior Daniel to the squad with one going out in Luke Varney (obviously ignoring those who`s contract has not been renewed.)

All we can do is wait for him to get back to us. There’s work being done but so far we’ve only got Junior to show for it. We need to sign some defenders, but if any good players come along then we will do it.’
