The revolving door keeps on going, trialists Craig Rocastle and Adam Nowland have left after just 45 minutes of football.
Both played the second half of Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Nantwich Town but neither midfielder could do enough to earn himself a deal at Gresty Road.
Nowland was probably the most promising of the two having once commanded a fee of £250k for a move to Nott’m Forest but a long spell with serious injuries looks to have put the 27 year-old’s career on the rocks. Rocastle meanwhile has interested Gudjon for a few weeks but anyone who’s witnessed his performances for Port Vale never expected a deal to be sealed.
Meanwhile Gudjon is keeping the trialist figures up by taking on Faroe Island international goalkeeper Tordur Thomsen. Thomsen’s trial comes as the club sealed a loan deal with Spurs keeper David Button this week.
