Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says there is no rush in sorting out a new contract for striker AJ Leitch-Smith.

“We have an option on AJ, so we can execute that in the summer” – Steve Davis

The 22-year-old has scored twice in his last three appearances for the Alex, who already have the option of another year on his current deal.

“We have an option on AJ, so we can execute that in the summer,” Davis explained to Crewe’s official website. “There is no panic over AJ.

“He has only just come back into the team but he is showing the type of form that he ended last season with,” he added. “He has scored two in three games and won the penalty at the weekend.”
