If you’re awaiting news on any new signings then don’t hold your breath as the silence looks set to continue today. Fans have heard virtually nothing from the club in the past few days in regards to new signings.

After several rejections this summer, news seems to have slowed right down with only Tranmere’s Calvin Zola and ‘keeper Steve Collis still in the frame to join Crewe. Dario even suggesting last week that we many not see a great influx of players after all.

Yesterday saw no news emerge from the Alex and today looks to be no different, with just the usual rent-a-quote coming from Neil Baker. Baker revealed that a League Two winger in is their sights, who could be Rochdale’s Adam Rundle, adding to superalex.co.uk:

”We’ve spoken to the player’s club and we’ll see where it goes from there.

”He is a tricky winger who is good with both feet and can beat a man.”

With less than two weeks before next season’s squad jet off for a pre-season trip to Bulgaria it more than a little worrying that the team seems further away from League One quality than it’s ever been.

how about we make up some rumours like the papers? Romario, Jardel, Tino Asprilla… or that bloke who claimed to be George Weah’s cousin?

After all the false dawns of players signing I am sure the club are just waiting until the inks dried on the paper to announce anything.
