Former Manchester United youngster Floribert N’Galula is having a ‘short trial’ with Crewe this week.

The 22 year old is currently unattached having been released by Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam this summer.

D.R Congo born, N’Galula began his career at Belgian club Anderlecht before joining Manchester United’s youth ranks in 2003. He turned professional in November 2004 and became a regular fixture in United’s reserve side.

He was released by Man United in 2007 after failing to make a single first team appearance and went on to have a spell at Danish club Randers before his move to Sparta Rotterdam last year.

A central midfielder, N’Galula was once tipped to be ‘the next Patrick Viera’, and his qualities certainly fit the bill as to what Gudjon is looking for. However, he has already been linked to League One’s Walsall and Stockport this summer.

N’Galula has joined up with the squad at the Carden Park Hotel for the mini-training camp this week.

Meanwhile Gudjon Thordarson says that ex-trialist Hamdi Razak was a ‘luxury we couldn’t afford’. Despite having more than a week’s trial at the club, Gudjon said that a new striker wasn’t one of his top priorities after all.
