Manager Steve Davis reckons new signing Vadaine Oliver can fulfil his potential at Crewe Alexandra.

“He’s very ambitious and wants to come to this football club” – Steve Davis

The 21-year-old striker has joined for an undisclosed fee from Conference side Lincoln City on a two-year contract.

He scored fourteen times for the Imps last term and is keen to maintain that progress having originally arrived from hometown club Sheffield Wednesday.

“He had an injury at a crucial time in his career so he didn’t get chance to show what he could do there,” Davis told This is Staffordshire. “That has changed his career path a bit. He has had to drop down, has been given an opportunity at Lincoln and has done very well. He’s very ambitious, wants to do well and wants to come to this football club.”
