“It is great for the confidence. Now we can’t wait for the Carlisle game” – Steve Davis

On loan Manchester City youngster George Evans serves a one-game suspension following five bookings in eleven appearances.

Meanwhile, last season’s top scorer Mathias Pogba continues to push for his first involvement after being ruled out since pre-season.

“We have to start getting results. And it was vital that we got something from the game at Colchester after losing at Wolves on Boxing Day,” manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. “It is great for the confidence. Now we can’t wait for the Carlisle game.

“It is amazing what a result can do and this has to be a turning point for us,” he continued. “Tom Hitchcock has been terrific for us. He has scored three goals in four games and you cannot ask for more than that.”

Carlisle were hopeful that midfielder Paul Thirlwell and striker Lee Miller can return.
