Danny Blanchett won the vote for the Vital Man of the Match against Torquay United. The summer signing from Peterborough scraped through to win the award with 47% to Rhys Taylor’s 43%.

It was a tough choice with the likely candidates of David Artell and Lee Bell failing to impress, whilst, despite the three goals, the attack failed to perform.

Blanchett’s form however has been steadily improving since his arrival in the summer and his performances at left back have just about started earning him some deserved recognition.

Clayton Donaldson, Matt Tootle, Luke Murphy and substitute Shaun Miller all received 2% of the vote respectively. No other players picked up a vote.

Vital Crewe MOTM record for 10/11:

Danny Blanchett vs Torquay – 47%
Rhys Taylor vs Macclesfield – 64%
David Artell vs Oxford – 38%
Lee Bell vs Bury – 53%
