More Youth International Caps For Jaaskelainen

|

Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen has gained his third and fourth caps with Finland’s Under-21 team over the past couple of days. Will has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper in that squad ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion development keeper Hugo Keto.

Jaaskelainen, 20, made his debut for the side in the previous international break and added to his 2 caps from last month with appearances in Thursday’s 4-0 win against Malta as well as this evening’s 1-0 defeat to Denmark, a result that sees the Danish move ahead of Finland at the top of the group as the group winners (and second-placed team with the best set of results) qualify automatically with the other second-placed teams advancing to a playoff round to qualify for the finals in Hungary and Slovenia in the summer of 2021.

He will return to the Crewe squad ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Swindon Town where he will probably be back in goal despite the performances of Dave Richards in the last couple of games.
