Crewe Alexandra’s out-of-contract winger Byron Moore has finally signed a new two-year deal to keep him at Gresty Road until the summer of 2014.

The 23-year-old netted ten goals last season, including against Cheltenham Town in the Wembley play-off final in May; in the process taking his number of senior appearances to more than 200 for the club.

His decision follows extended talks with Alex manager Steve Davis and his assistant Neil Baker.

There had been earlier speculation of a possible move into the Scottish Premier League. Alex would only have been eligible to compensation if he had joined another English club.

Moore is included in the squad for the pre-season game at Congleton Town (kick-off 1.30pm) later this afternoon.
