Crewe Alexandra are set to finally sign Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Osman, according to latest reports.

The 25-year-old is currently a free agent after spending time with Greek League outfit Kerkyra last season. He previously had three seasons at Northampton Town and has already featured as a trialist for Alex during pre-season.

Manager Steve Davis has recently snapped up defenders Mark Ellis (Torquay United) and Gregor Robertson (Chesterfield), striker Matias Pogba (Wrexham) and winger Michael West (Ebbsfleet United) following their play-off final victory against Cheltenham Town in May.

He has since indicated that the powerful Osman would be the final piece of his recruit programme ahead of their return to League One football next month.
