Crewe Alexandra midfielder David Fox is running again but currently not without discomfort.

“He’s started running but that’s not without discomfort” – Steve Davis

There had been hopes the 31-year-old may return earlier from his cracked vertebrae than the initial estimate of a couple of months. But that would now appear rather unlikely.

“He’s started running but that’s not
without discomfort,” manager Steve Davis told the Stoke Sentinel. “He’s not free of pain which he would need to be before he can push on.

“That will be a process that will take a little bit longer,” he admitted. “But he’s having a go, he’s trying to train and do bits that he can at a level that’s comfortable to him.”
