2 goals in the final 15 minutes of the game from Perry Ng and substitute Charlie Kirk gave Crewe Alexandra their first away draw of the season after coming from 2-0 down at Stevenage`s Lamex Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Manager David Artell made 1 change from the victory at Lincoln a fortnight ago as Newcastle loanee right-back Jamie Sterry missed out due to injury with midfielder Tom Lowery coming in (Ng moving from central midfield to right-back as a result). Chris Dagnall returned to the match-day squad as a substitute despite not appearing for Alex Morris` Under-23 team, for which he is set to play for in midweek against Birmingham City.

The opening chance of the game came in the 12th minute as Bowditch gave Stevenage the lead as the striker is played in behind the Alex defence and finished into the corner against the run of play. The next chance came for the visitors on the half-hour as Jordan Bowery shot over the bar following a Zoumana Bakayago before Ng fed Lowery who shot wide under pressure from just inside the area. Another chance fell to Shaun Miller whose shot was saved by goalkeeper Tom King with 10 minutes to play in the half.

Into the second-half and more Crewe pressure, a low cross from Bakayago was deflected away from Bowery before Stevenage extended their lead 6 minutes after the break. Danny Newton got in down the Alex right, beat George Ray before squaring the ball for Bowditch to score from close-range.

After a period lacking chances for either team, Joe McKee found Johnny Goddard whose effort was deflected behind before Eddie Nolan had one headed off the line and Crewe got back into the game a couple of minutes later. Ng cut in from the right-wing and unleashed a rocket into the top corner with his left-foot with 10 minutes to go.

The Alex almost levelled the score going into stoppage-time but King made a great save from substitute Harry McKirdy`s header whilst the seventh minute of stoppage-time was where the equaliser came. Dagnall played the ball out to Harry Pickering who crossed for Kirk to head home from just outside the 6-yard box.

Crewe`s next game sees Coventry City play at the Alexandra Stadium next Saturday.
