Tomorrow afternoon sees Crewe Alexandra travel to the County Ground to face Swindon Town, the hosts’ playing squad containing former Alex midfielder Tariq Uwakwe.

This season saw the Robins sitting in 22nd in the league following wins against Newport County, Cheltenham Town, Fleetwood Town, Grimsby Town and Colchester United, they have drawn against Chesterfield, us, Barrow, Tranmere Rovers, Harrogate Town, Gillingham, Accrington Stanley, AFC Wimbledon and Bromley while they have lost against Walsall, Notts County twice, Carlisle United, Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers, Salford City, MK Dons, Morecambe, Colchester and Bradford City.

They finished 2nd in their EFL Trophy group after wins against Bristol Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-21s following a defeat against Exeter City, beat Wycombe Wanderers to set up a home game against Birmingham City in midweek in the Round of 16.

Transfers:

Since the last meeting, they have signed defender George Cox, midfielder Gavin Kilkenny and forward Danny Butterworth have joined on permanent deals while goalkeeper Daniel Barden and forwards Kabongo Tshimanga and Tom Nichols have all joined on loan deals until the end of the season with a number of players leaving on loan deals.
