After the first mid-week off since the opening week of fixtures, we are back in action against fellow Cheshire club Macclesfield Town at the Alexandra Stadium. The Silkmen have started the season slowly with defeats against Swindon Town, Grimsby Town and Oldham Athletic before back-to-back home 1-1 draws against Cheltenham Town and Mansfield Town, our visitors next week in the league. Macc have had better fortunes in the EFL Cup though having knocked out League 1 clubs Bradford City and Walsall, both on penalties.
