Tomorrow afternoon sees Crewe Alexandra host Gillingham at the Alexandra Stadium, the visitors’ squad set to contain former Alex strikers Scott Kashket and Mika Mandron who both left for the Gills this summer.

This Season:

They sit in 18th place in the league after beating Rochdale and Sutton United, they have drawn against Walsall, Swindon Town, Grimsby Town and Hartlepool United while they have lost to AFC Wimbledon, Tranmere Rovers, Harrogate Town, Carlisle United and Mansfield Town.

They lost to Exeter City in the Carabao Cup 2nd Round on penalties after defeating AFC Wimbledon in Round 1 while they beat Charlton Athletic and lost to Brighton & Hove Albion’s Under-21s in their EFL Trophy group that also contains Colchester United.

Transfers:

This summer has seen the club make 16 signings, 10 permanent and 6 season-long loan deals. Goalkeepers Jake Turner and loanees Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Glenn Morris are joined by defenders Will Wright, Cheye Alexander, Robbie McKenzie, Elkan Baggott, Ryan Law and Haji Mnoga (the last 3 are loanees). Midfielders Dom Jefferies and Shaun Williams also arrive while forwards Kashket, Mandron, Lewis Walker and loanee Hakeeb Adelakun complete the signings.

They have allowed 12 players to leave the club permanently, including former Alex striker Vadaine Oliver, while midfielder Joseph Gbode has joined Hastings United on loan.
