Manager Steve Davis was naturally dejected as Crewe Alexandra allowed a 3-1 advantage to slip at Swindon Town.

The Railwaymen had appeared on course for victory following first-half goals from Brad Inman (2) and Ryan Colcough, until former loanee Nicky Ajose grabbed his second of the contest in added time to deny them any reward.

“It has happened too many times now and there are players out there who are half expecting to happen,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “The mental scars they are suffering with are there and are a massive problem for us at the moment. We have conceded too many late goals and it has affected them.

“We tried to get answers out of the players,” he added. “They are a quiet group and they don’t tend to speak up but we got something out of them and that is a positive to take forward. They are massively disappointed because from leading 3-1 at half time we have had it taken from our grasp again.”
