Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has signed a new eighteen-month rolling contract at Gresty Road.
The 47-year-old successfully led the club to promotion through the play-offs last season after succeeding Dario Gradi in the role the previous November. At the time the Alex were close to the relegation zone and facing a potential survival battle.
He had originally arrived as assistant to Icelandic manager Gudjon Thordarson back in May 2009.
This season Davis has continued to operate on a rolling three-month deal while successfully establishing his team at the higher level and they currently sit just below mid-table.
Davis had been linked with the recent managerial vacancy at his former club Burnley in October but went on to re-affirm his commitment to the Railwaymen.
