Manchester United have refused permission for loanee David Gray to play in Saturday’s FA Cup game at Oldham. The 19 year old signed on a month’s loan last week and made his first start at Forest on Saturday.

With injuries to Julien Baudet, Danny Woodards and Billy Jones possibly keeping the trio out of Saturday, Steve Holland could have done without the extra headache.

Fellow loanees Simon Church and Elliott Bennett, who could come in for Gray on Saturday, have already had permission from their respective clubs to play in the Cup. However, Man Utd clearly don’t want Gray cup tied for later rounds.
