Magilton Monitoring Vaughan

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has declared his interest in Crewe midfielder David Vaughan. The 23-year old is contracted until the summer of 2008, but Vaughan is expected to move on either in January or next summer.

The Welsh international has recently been linked with a move to Cardiff – suggestions made all the more credible by Cardiff’s ongoing cash injection. Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has since publicisied his interest in the midfielder, ‘He is someone I like and we have watched, but Crewe are not interested in doing a deal just yet.’ However, with Ipswich recently signing ex-Crewe youngster Gary Roberts, who can play up front or on the left of midfield, it seems unlikely that Vaughany will be heading to Ipswich.
