Kenny Lunt is set to extend his loan deal at Crewe till the end of the season.
The former Alex captain is currently out injured till the end of January and it wasn’t expected that his loan deal would be extended any time soon with a new manager arriving any day.
It is though that Gudjon Thordarson is to be named manager very soon and this deal for Lunt could well be an indication as to how close the announcement is.
Lunt made over 400 appearances for the Alex in his nine years at the club before leaving for Sheff Wed. However, an unhappy time at Wednesday looks to have come to an early end with this loan spell taking him up to the end of his Wednesday contract.
It looks increasingly likely Lunt will become a permanent Alex player in the summer.
