Lunt Appeal Unsuccessful

Crewe have failed in their appeal for Kenny Lunt’s red card picked up against Reading to be rescinded. Lunt was sent off after a cynical trip on Reading’s Steve Hunt despite the fact that he wasn’t the last man. David Vaughan may not be match fit in time for Saturday, meaning that Lunt’s absence will give an opportunity in midfield for either Billy Jones or Tony Grant. Grant is playing in a friendly today against Notts County reserves, as is new signing Madjid Bougherra who is in contention for Saturday’s game.
